Development

Producer

The producer is expected to work closely with studio executives and product owners to drive and support development, delivery and operation of high quality MMO mobile games. This will require the producer to drive the coordination and alignment of both internal and external multi-disciplinary team members to achieve product delivery. The producer must also be able to extensively track and document production and regularly provide detailed feedback on product progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and communicate realistic project schedules, status reports and technical documentation.
  • Document the flow of assets, critical information and critical deliverables.
  • Work closely with product owners to develop P&L and product plan for new game initiatives.
  • Complete ownership/accountability of project costs (estimates and approved budgets) to execute the product plan.
  • Manage massively multiplayer online mobile games at all stages including but not limited to: concept, development and live operation.
  • Develop metrics to quantify operational productivity and evaluate success.
  • Summarise existing work processes within various internal and external teams and recommend changes to improve efficiency and quality of services.
  • Oversee and drive development team of designers, client programmers, server programmers and artists to effectively execute product plan.
  • Oversee and drive external teams/contractors/outsourced agencies to effectively execute product plan.
  • Oversee, drive and assist in the creation of live operation teams.
  • Oversee, drive and ensure QA processes, overall product quality and testing.
  • Positively enforce the overall vision, direction and culture desired by the product owner.
  • Manage the flow of assets, information and deliverables between the internal team, external team and product stakeholders.
  • Organise and direct team/project meetings, reviews and retrospective.
  • Remain up-to-date with current and possible future changes to iOS, Android, Windows Phone and other social/mobile and payment platforms policies and processes.
  • Understanding of in-game economies and monetisation in mobile games.
  • Understanding of the development process of online multiplayer games.
  • Understanding of multiple workflow management processes and methodologies including: Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban.
  • Ability to meaningfully contribute to overall strategy, management tools/documentation and product design.

Requirements:

  • 5-years+ game production experience.
  • 2-years+ game production experience on free-to-play social/mobile games products.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Track record of producing successful online/Facebook/mobile games.
  • Background in project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams across multiple functions such as product, marketing, development, creative, content, QA and more.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic gamer and passionate about creating innovative, fun and compelling mobile games.
  • Proven analytical capabilities including but not limited to: Excel and JIRA.
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail and proven ability to schedule and successfully manage that schedule.
  • Proven ability to facilitate and manage external staff/contractors/outsourced agencies.
  • Positive attitude and ability to embrace change.

 

UX/UI Designer

The UX/UI Designer is expected to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to participate in the UX process, with a focus on creating UI solutions for mobile devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of UI for the project.
  • Identify usability problems with designs and interfaces and make recommendations based upon best UX practices and principles.
  • Work with team members and stakeholders to identify user goals and project requirements. Then be able to translate them into functional, clean, visually appealing, and intuitive interface designs.
  • Create multiple iterations of UI/UX designs for consideration during product development.
  • Support the game design team in the creation of mock-ups, flows, and wireframes.
  • Facilitate communication process between disciplines; provide clear design guidance to programmers for implementation.
  • Create visual assets and content for a variety of web and digital applications including:  icons, images, infographics, menus, charts, dashboards, etc.
  • Understand and effectively apply usability practices, support users with disabilities, and be able to follow branding guidelines.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation.
  • Deliver high quality work while balancing priorities having competing requirements, with efficient time management and reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with end users to validate your design.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years related experience creating UI/UX for mobile or tablet games/applications.
  • 2+ years plus experience design UI/UX with Unity3D.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Painter, Microsoft Office, Maya and other relevant design and development tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to embrace change.

Desirables:

  • Bachelors Degree; will consider equivalent experience.

 

Systems Designer

The Systems Designer is expected to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create general and specific system designs. This will include (but is not limited to) creating systems such as combat, skills and resource collecting systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of complex game systems.
  • Collaborate with art, design and other engineers to architect, develop and support key systems.
  • Modelling and tuning complex game systems using excel or other relevant tools.
  • Provide clear systems feature documentation, diagrams, wireframes and/or prototypes.
  • Synthesise theme, game mechanics, monetisation and social features into an integrated product.
  • Maintain core game loop and game balance.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience of game design in mobile and free-to-play.
  • Experience in MMO games with e-commerce and microtransactions.
  • Experience designing online and social game features.
  • Experience in developing rule-sets (character classes, enemies, skill systems, etc.)
  • Experience in live-operation.
  • High Proficiency in Excel and its functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in playing online and MMO games on both PC/Console and Mobile for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Positive attitude and ability to embrace change.

Desirables:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Game Design; will consider equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as: Lua and Python.
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
  • Able to provide visual designs or rough mock-ups (through Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup, etc.)
